Altruism
Kalim Bechara Art Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening of Altruism, the first solo exhibition in Beirut by Iraqi artist Mohammed Suhail, on Wednesday, August 12, starting at 6 PM.
Born in 2000 and a graduate of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad, Suhail has established himself as one of a new generation of Iraqi painters distinguished by their technical precision and conceptual depth. His meticulously rendered figurative works transform everyday objects into psychologically charged narratives that explore empathy, human connection, and the shared experiences that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
In Altruism, Suhail reimagines the concept of the cyborg, shifting its meaning from technological enhancement to human solidarity. Prosthetic limbs become visual metaphors for compassion and selflessness, proposing a vision in which humanity is measured not by difference, but by the willingness to give part of oneself to another.
Exhibition on view until August 29, 2026.

Between Light and Memory
Kalim Bechara Art Gallery is pleased to present Between Light and Memory, an exhibition that brings together the works of Robert Messarra and Marie Traboulsi Marinier, curated by Randa Sadaka, opening on Thursday, July 16, at 6 PM, in Downtown.
The exhibition explores landscape through two distinct yet complementary perspectives: Messarra’s luminous celebration of the Mediterranean world and Traboulsi’s evocative paintings shaped by memory, gesture, and imagination. Together, their works offer a dialogue between the visible and the remembered, in which landscape becomes both a place and a state of mind.
On view till 1st of August 2026.
