Kalim Bechara Art Gallery invites you to the opening reception of Holiday Inn Beirut, Mira El-Khalil’s newest exhibition, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
El-Khalil transforms one of Beirut’s most charged architectural landmarks, an icon of the Lebanese Civil War, into a living, breathing companion. Once the central figure of her early paintings, the Holiday Inn now drifts in and out of view, shifting through scenes of friendship, introspection, and memory. Beirut’s scarred architecture becomes an emotional language, recolored, reimagined, and vividly alive.

In this exhibition, El Lakkis pays tribute to the legendary Umm Kulthum, translating her voice and stage presence into vibrant geometric forms and bold color harmonies. His works capture the rhythm, emotion, and timeless energy of an icon who continues to inspire generations.
