Kalim Bechara Art Gallery is delighted to welcome you to the opening of “The Girl Who Stole The Pearl”, a solo exhibition by Syrian artist Tamim Sibai. Join us on Thursday, October 16, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
In this exhibition, Sibai reimagines Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring through his bold, layered style. The serenity of the original is broken and rebuilt with vivid colors, raw textures, and striking emotion. The pearl, once a symbol of purity or rebellion, becomes a metaphor for transformation, stolen from its stillness and placed into a world of energy and movement.

His portraits move between dream and reality, turning silence into confrontation, vulnerability into strength. By merging historical beauty with contemporary chaos, Sibai transforms Vermeer’s muse into a new archetype: one that is untamed, alive, and endlessly compelling.

The show will remain on view till November 01, 2025.
